Number Match is essentially a mobile version of the pen-and-paper number matching games many people played as children, often known by various names such as Take Ten, Numberama, or 10 Seeds. Instead of using pen and paper to find pairs of numbers, you simply tap the screen to match numbers so that they are identical and then delete them.

Note: You can also check out other games of the same genre on our website, such as Suika Game or Number Master.

Introduce about Number Match

Number Match is a number puzzle game with a very familiar style, but it has a quiet and enduring appeal. From the first time you open the game, you’ll find everything quite simple: a board full of numbers, no fancy colors, no characters, no storyline. But it is precisely this simplicity that makes people easily sit and play longer than expected.

The gameplay revolves around finding and matching pairs of identical numbers or numbers that sum to 10 to remove them from the board. It sounds easy, but after playing for a while, you’ll find it’s not as simple as it seems. A notable point is that Number Match doesn’t create time pressure. You can pause and think for as long as you like, try each move, and if you make a mistake, try again.

The game is suitable for playing in your free time, while waiting, or simply when you want to focus your mind on something slow and deliberate. With its clean design and gameplay heavily reliant on observation, memorization, and arrangement, Number Match is a game that looks simple at first glance, but the more you play, the deeper it becomes in its own unique way.

Simple number matching gameplay

The most noticeable aspect of Number Match is its very easy-to-understand gameplay. Match two identical numbers, or two numbers that sum to 10, and you’re done. At first glance, everyone thinks it’s simple, even a little… childish. But after playing for a while, I realized that the game isn’t simple in its rules, but in how you have to look at the entire number board. Sometimes I see a pair right in front of me, but if I quickly delete it, I’ll find myself stuck a few moves later.

This feeling arises because the game has no time limit, so players tend to think more. There’s no rush, no pressure to hurry. I often stop, look around the number board, and wonder what will happen to the numbers after that if I delete this pair. Some games I play very slowly, almost cautiously deleting pairs one at a time. And there are times when I break that rhythm, deleting continuously for the thrill of it, and then… I get stuck.

The number board is long

One thing I noticed when playing Number Match is that the game doesn’t give a clear sense of progress. There are no grand victory screens, no star ratings. The number board just keeps going, extending, adding new rows as needed. At first, I felt a little disappointed, because I was used to games with clearly defined levels. But after playing for a while, I found this method quite suitable.

In reality, playing Number Match feels like solving a long math problem with no fixed end point. You play and stop wherever you want. Sometimes I only play for a few minutes. Other times I sit for quite a while, because I see that the board still has room to be saved. This feeling arises because the game doesn’t force you to win or lose. It lets you decide when to stop.

This makes Number Match very suitable for intermittent play. No need to remember the storyline. No need to remember unfinished tasks. Just open it and continue playing right where you left off. For me, this is a very realistic design, very suitable for playing on a phone.

Daily challenges

Besides the main game mode, Number Match has daily challenges. I don’t always play, but on my days off I still open it up and try them. The feeling of these challenges isn’t stressful, but more like a warm-up for the brain. After completing them, I feel a little lighter.

What I like is that the challenges aren’t too different from the original rules, so I don’t need to learn them from scratch. But the way the numbers are arranged made me change my perspective. Some days I solve it very quickly, other days it takes longer than I expected. And when I finish, there’s no feeling of winning big, but rather the feeling of completing a small task.

No time limit

One thing I noticed quite clearly when playing Number Match is that the game almost doesn’t create any time pressure. There’s no countdown timer. No warnings to move quickly. You can leave your phone there, look at the number board for tens of seconds, even minutes, before touching a pair of numbers. After playing for a while, I realized that this is what makes the gameplay feel completely different from many other puzzle games.

This relaxed feeling comes from the fact that the brain isn’t pushed into a state of tension. I don’t need quick reflexes, I don’t need to worry about making one wrong move and losing immediately. In fact, during the experience, there were games where I was playing while thinking random thoughts, my hands were still moving slowly, but my mind felt quite relaxed. And strangely, I was still able to concentrate, instead of getting bored.

The most noticeable aspect is that Number Match is more of a thought-provoking activity than a game of chance. You set your own pace. You can play fast or slow, it doesn’t matter. For those times when you need a light way to kill time, or simply want to stimulate your mind without getting tired, this design is very suitable, and that’s why I return to this game quite often.

Overall, Number Match is a truly light yet profound puzzle game. The rules are simple and easy to understand from the start, but the more you play, the more careful you have to think if you don’t want to get yourself into a dilemma. The game isn’t noisy, doesn’t create pressure, doesn’t force wins or losses, but lets players decide their own pace and playing time.
