At first, I just thought simply, sell whatever I have. But playing more, I realized some series sell very well, while others only get a few inquiries. So I started thinking about trying to import new types to see how it goes.
It feels like collecting, because every time I get a new comic book license, I’m curious about what it looks like and whether customers will like it. Sometimes I import a set because I think the title is nice, but it sells slowly, so I leave it there, which is a bit of a shame.
But those things make me feel more connected to the shop. Decisions aren’t always right. Therefore, running a comic book business in the game isn’t just about “choosing the most profitable option,” but a whole process of trial and error, learning from experience.
Customizing the shop and interacting with customers
Another thing that keeps me entertained for a long time is the ability to customize and decorate the shop. Looking back at the shop from when I started and after a few hours of playing, the feeling is completely different. From simple shelves, gradually adding tables, lamps, and decorations, I feel proud. Not because it’s exceptionally beautiful, but because it’s a shop I arranged myself.
Customers in the game also contribute to the atmosphere. Some people buy very quickly, some stand and browse for quite a while, and some come back several times. After playing for a while, I started to recognize some familiar faces. And I suddenly felt happy. Not because they had any complicated stories, but because I felt like this shop “really had people coming and going.”

When I first started Comic Book Store Simulator, what caught my eye wasn’t the “wow” graphics, but the pleasant feeling. The colors were bright, slightly cartoonish, and it was clear the game wanted to create a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere. The shop was small, the bookshelves, the cash register, the boxes of goodsβ¦ everything was simple, but enough to make me imagine a real comic book store.
The sound further accentuated that atmosphere. The background music was light, not overwhelming, just there for show, but when turned off, it felt incomplete.
