Developed by Kong Orange and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Felix the Reaper was released on PC, consoles, and mobile platforms. Upon release, the game received widespread praise from players. Basic gameplay of Felix the Reaper
In the game, you take on the role of Felix, a clumsy yet dedicated Reaper whose job is to ensure that fate unfolds according to plan. To do so, he must arrange the necessary events that lead each individual’s destiny to its predetermined outcome.
The levels in Felix the Reaper are built on a grid-based layout similar to a chessboard. You can direct Felix to move to a desired location by tapping the corresponding tile. However, as a Reaper, he can only stand and move on tiles covered by shadows cast by objects blocking the sunlight. Any tile directly illuminated by light is inaccessible to him.
To overcome this limitation, Felix is equipped with a special device known as the Sundial. This tool allows him to rotate the direction of sunlight by 90 degrees from its current angle. As a result, the shadows cast by objects shift to new positions, creating fresh pathways of darkness. By manipulating these shadows, Felix can reach areas that were previously inaccessible.
The unique puzzle mechanics
Felix the Reaper is a pure puzzle game with no combat or confrontation elements. Throughout each level, Felix keeps time frozen, leaving every other living being motionless. Your objective is to guide Felix in collecting the required objects and placing them at designated locations throughout the level. Once all objectives have been completed, Felix enters an elevator to return to the realm of the dead, bringing the time freeze to an end.
When time begins to flow again, the objects Felix has carefully arranged set off a chain of unfortunate events, resulting in a series of artistically staged deaths that unfold exactly according to his plan.

The game features 3D graphics rendered in a simple yet highly recognizable cel-shaded art style. Felix, the game’s protagonist, is undoubtedly the centerpiece of the game’s visual design. Throughout the game, he moves with spontaneous dance steps rather than walking in a conventional manner, giving the title a unique sense of personality and charm.
To create these dance animations, the development team employed motion-capture technology to record the movements of professional dancers and then applied them to Felix. As a result, every movement feels natural, fluid, and full of character, further enhancing the game’s distinctive artistic identity.
