I clearly remember one time, I built a team full of damage dealers – and it felt great! But then, on another level, I kept losing because I lacked tanky slimes. The world is oppressed by Despot, everything is a little gloomy, and the tiny slime team is rising up in resistance.
Every battle feels more weighty, one that isn’t just about winning and losing, but rather a battle-story in the overarching rebellion. When I see the slimes drop sometimes, I feel a little sad even though I know it’s a game. The reason I’ve stuck around for longer isn’t just gameplay. I think it’s because the game is able to create an atmosphere that makes me want to stay and see where the slime team goes.
