Drift Runner is a stunt driving sports game developed and published by Road Burn Games. In the game, you’ll travel to racetracks in Poland and compete in drift stunt competitions.
Choosing a control method in Drift Runner
When you start playing Drift Runner, the game will ask you to choose one of several different control methods. For navigation, you can choose one of three methods: buttons, slider, or tilt. Buttons allow you to steer the car using two virtual left and right buttons. Slider provides a navigation slider. Tilt uses the gyroscope on your phone, allowing you to navigate by tilting your phone.
For acceleration, Drift Runner has two options: button and slider. Button gives you a virtual throttle button; the car will only accelerate when you press this button. Slider gives you a throttle lever; you simply pull the lever up a certain amount and the car will automatically accelerate.

However, drifting will cause the car to veer off course in the opposite direction of your turn due to inertia. In that case, if necessary, you can use the footbrake to reduce speed and prevent the car from sliding off the track.
When the car is about to stop sliding, you can press the βclutchβ button to keep the car in a drifting state. Alternatively, the clutch can also be used for drifting without reducing the car’s speed. If you enable βAuto Gearboxβ mode, the clutch functions will operate automatically without you having to press a button.
Basic gameplay of Drift Runner
Drift Runner isn’t a game focused on racing. Instead, it requires you to perform drifting techniques to score points and complete the level. Points in Drift Runner are calculated based on drift time, car speed, and the angle the car creates after drifting. There are two score indicators in the game, displayed at the top of the screen. On the left is your total score, and on the right is your temporary score. The longer you drift, the higher your temporary score. After the drift ends, the temporary score is added to your total score.
Additionally, the race track features many scoring circles. You need to tap these circles while your car is drifting to receive significantly higher points. However, if you tap a circle while your car is moving normally, you won’t receive any extra points, although the circle will disappear. Besides performing drifting techniques, you need to keep your car on the track at all times. If your car slides off the track or collides with hard objects, your points will be deducted continuously. Therefore, quickly get your car back on the track or use the “Recover” feature to instantly teleport back onto the track.
