Crawl Tactics features turn-based tactical gameplay. However, unlike most turn-based mobile games, each battle in Crawl Tactics takes place on a large map. Your character can move and attack simultaneously, rather than just standing still and performing actions like in typical turn-based games. This gameplay is quite similar to the popular Final Fantasy Tactics or Sword of Convallaria.
In Crawl Tactics, you control a team of warriors and adventurers, engaging in battles against enemies. The game board is designed using an isometric grid, with each character or object occupying only one square. You can control team members by double-tapping a square. If a character is within attack range of an enemy or object that can be destroyed, you can double-tap them to make the character attack. Even after performing an attack, the character you control will still be allowed to move the remaining squares within their movement limit.
Height of Level
The terrain in the levels also features high and low points. Your character can climb to higher positions to perform more powerful attacks, or jump to lower positions to dodge enemy attacks. Note that in Crawl Tactics, your character cannot jump too high or too low. You can only control your character to climb up a maximum of 2 tiles or jump down a maximum of 3 tiles from their current position.
Different facing in the Gameplay
This is a very special feature in Crawl Tactics. Not only can characters, enemies, and objects be positioned directly in front of the camera, but they can also be hidden behind the terrain of the game level. Therefore, Crawl Tactics gives you the ability to rotate the level facing, which you can use by swiping horizontally across the screen with one finger. This will rotate the entire terrain area in the game level in the direction you specify, allowing you to see objects that were not visible from the previous facing.
